Diseñado para satisfacer las demandas de los profesionales sobre el terreno o en el estudio, el SB-5000 es un flash i-TTL compatible con las cámaras DSLR de formato DX y FX. Este flash funciona como una unidad de flash montada en una zapata de contactos, como un controlador inalámbrico o como una unidad remota; además, forma parte del Sistema de Iluminación Creativa de Nikon. Se trata del primer flash Nikon que ofrece un control por radio inalámbrico, lo que elimina la necesidad de que exista una línea de visión directa entre el flash maestro y el esclavo, a la vez que aumenta la fiabilidad cuando se dispara a plena luz del sol. Designed for control in challenging shooting situations, the SB-5000 is fully compatible with Nikon's new Creative Lighting System radio control function. You can now trigger professional flash settings, individually or multiple times, using the SB-5000 and the WR-R10 Wireless Remote Controller. The SB-5000's ability to respond flexibly to remote lighting challenges allows you to create and control almost any flash setup, including complex multi-flash arrangements. When combined with the WR-R10 Wireless Remote Controller, the system supports up to six groupings of SB-5000 units. Optical control is also fully supported, allowing older flashes to continue to be used for multi-flash setups.

Fast and reliable, it delivers a remarkable 120 shots at 5-second intervals, or 84 shots at 3-second intervals. It allows more than 100 consecutive images to be captured with the flash operating at full power. The system suppresses heat generation inside the flash head to prevent it from overheating - the best thermal protection ever.
FULL INTEGRATION WITH NIKON'S ACCLAIMED CREATIVE LIGHTING SYSTEM
At the heart of the SB-5000 is Nikon's i-TTL (Intelligent Through-The-Lens Control) Flash Control, which allows Nikon Speedlights to share basic exposure information with CLS-compatible DSLR cameras. The SB-5000 can be radio-controlled as part of an Advanced Wireless Lighting setup, or controlled in the traditional way using optical line-of-sight control. Improvements in operational perfection include Unified Flash Control, which adds an additional level of system control. You can now operate the SB-5000 or change its settings from the camera's menu, or from a computer running Camera Control Pro 2, when the unit is attached to the camera body.
COMPACT DESIGN, UNCLUTTERED CONTROLS
Lighter than its predecessor and more intuitive to operate, the SB-5000 has been redesigned for greater convenience. You'll notice the difference as soon as you attach the SB-5000 to your camera, or as soon as you pack it in your travel bag: the compact flash body weighs just 420g. The uncluttered control panel offers a large, easy-to-read information display. The rotary multi-selector and "i" button provide quick access to custom or commonly used functions: for example, the "i" button instantly displays the main flash settings in list form, whether for Single Flash Photography or Advanced Wireless Lighting. Like its predecessor, the SB-5000 flash head tilts down to 7° or up to 90°, it also swivels 180° horizontally to the left and right.
