ZEISS LOXIA 25/2.4 E SONY
Powerful, wide-angle and compact: these are just some of the features of the ZEISS Loxia® 2.4/25. The Distagon® optical design has been developed specifically for the full-frame, high-resolution sensors of the Sony α mirrorless camera series. It complements the ZEISS Loxia 2.4/25 lens in many ways.
Despite its compact design, the ZEISS Loxia 2.4/25 wide-angle lens delivers excellent performance across the entire image range of a full-frame sensor. Whether shooting landscapes, architecture, or close-up subjects with wide backgrounds, this focal length, thanks to its wide image angle, perfectly complements the Loxia lens family, making it a new benchmark lens for wide-angle enthusiasts looking to capture the finest details in their photos and videos.
ZEISS Loxia lenses have been developed specifically for the Sony α series full-frame mirrorless cameras. What makes them special? Enjoy the benefits of combining the most advanced mirrorless systems with the creative possibilities of "traditional" manual focus photography.
Finally, ZEISS Loxia lenses offer everything you need to shoot high-quality video. The unique DeClick function for continuous aperture adjustment is an excellent example.
DeClick function
A completely new feature of the Loxia lenses is the possibility to "DeClick" the diaphragm locking mechanism with the supplied tool and an adjustment screw on the surface of the mount. In video applications, unexpected brightness differences can be compensated for by rotating the camera without phasing. This function is also compatible with other video systems suitable for the small size for adaptation.
Precise manual focusing
Manual operation of a lens means controlling the image result with your fingertips. Ergonomics is everything. ZEISS lenses stand out with their large angle of rotation, which allows you to focus precisely on one point. Changes are immediately visible in the viewfinder. The high-quality focusing mechanism is light, play-free and provides additional support for the intuitive play with the level of sharpness. Precise engraving in metres and feet and the depth-of-field scale offer further support for manual focusing.
Immensely compatible
ZEISS Loxia lenses are compatible with Sony Alpha cameras with E-mount and have been optimised on their sensors down to a full 35 mm format (24 x 36 mm). With ZEISS Loxia lenses, the aperture is preset manually, which enables the DeClick function of the mechanical aperture ring. As a result, the cameras have corresponding automatic exposure control (A) and manual exposure control (M).
Virtually distortion-free optics
ZEISS lenses open up new design possibilities with dramatic perspectives and the view from unusual visual angles. Distortion affects the composition, as straight lines whose image does not go to the centre of the image would be represented as crooked. This annoying effect is mostly compensated for by expensive designs at all focal lengths, accordingly.
High-quality, all-metal design
Remarkable quality and high stability are the main characteristics of ZEISS lenses for decades of intensive use. The high-quality all-metal design, the non-slip diaphragm and focusing ring, the sturdy front mount and the filter thread provide a great experience in the world of photography. In addition, the special sealing ring on the mount protects the intersection between the camera and the lens.
