Design and ergonomics

The Nikon Z5 is an excellent opportunity to take photography and video to the next level, with a design and dimensions almost identical to its big brother, the Nikon Z6. Lightweight and easy to handle, it features a 24.3MP full-frame CMOS sensor that takes full advantage of the Z-mount's light-gathering capabilities.

The camera has an integrated Expeed 6 processor chip, just like the Z6. The body is made of magnesium alloy and is dust and moisture resistant. It also features a tilting touchscreen and intuitive controls.

Alongside the camera, the NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 lens has also been launched: the full-frame mirrorless zoom lens with the shortest distance and lightest weight available. It's the perfect companion for the Nikon Z5 and an excellent choice for any content creator who wants a lightweight, portable zoom lens.

Overall performance

The 273-point Hybrid AF offers smooth, fast and accurate focusing. It also incorporates Eye Detection, which locks focus on the eyes of people, dogs and cats.

The camera's built-in 5-axis VR image stabilisation allows shooting at shutter speeds up to five stops slower than would otherwise be possible. Regardless of which NIKKOR Z lens you use, still images are always sharp and video is stable.

Connectivity

Thanks to the WiFi and Bluetooth functions, you can stay connected to the camera at all times to transfer your images seamlessly. With Nikon's SnapBridge app, you can turn your phone into a powerful accessory, as well as remote control.

For video lovers, record in 4K UHD at up to 30fps, and up to 60fps in 1080 HD, in MOV and MP4 format. The ISO range of 100-51,200 allows shooting in low light conditions with great image quality and virtually no noise. It features a fast dual UHS-II SD card slot.

As for the viewfinder, it inherits the 3690k dot EVF from its Z6 and Z7 siblings.
