Diseñado para un máximo rendimiento en condiciones de disparo difíciles, el SIGMA 500mm F4 DG HSM Sports dispone de una efectiva construcción contra el polvo y las salpicaduras. La parte frontal de la lente, tiene un recubrimiento repelente al agua y al aceite que permite que el agua se limpie fácilmente y ayuda a evitar que el aceite se adhiera a la superficie.
- Barrilete de aleación de magnesio
Para ayudar a minimizar el peso asociado a un teleobjetivo, el barrilete del objetivo está hecho con una aleación de magnesio. Extremadamente ligero y resistente, esta aleación contribuye al excelente manejo del SIGMA 500mm F4 DG HSM Sports.
- Rendimiento óptico al máximo nivel
El objetivo incorpora dos elementos de cristal FLD y uno SLD, y una distribución de energía optimizada que ayudan a minimizar la aberración esférica y la aberración cromática axial. El sistema óptico también minimiza eficazmente la aberración cromática transversal, que puede afectar a los bordes de las fotos tomadas en el rango de teleobjetivo. Designed for maximum performance in challenging shooting conditions, the SIGMA 500mm F4 DG HSM Sports features an effective dust- and splash-resistant construction. The front of the lens has a water- and oil-repellent coating that allows water to be easily wiped off and helps prevent oil from adhering to the surface.
- Magnesium Alloy Barrel
To help minimise the weight associated with a telephoto lens, the lens barrel is made of magnesium alloy. Extremely lightweight and strong, this alloy contributes to the excellent handling of the SIGMA 500mm F4 DG HSM Sports.
- Optical performance at the highest level
The lens incorporates two FLD and one SLD glass elements and optimised power distribution that help minimise spherical aberration and axial chromatic aberration. The optical system also effectively minimises transverse chromatic aberration, which can affect the edges of photos taken in the telephoto range. In addition, image quality remains exceptional when the lens is used with a SIGMA Teleconverter (sold separately).
- AF Function Selector with preset AF modes
The AF function selector allows you to set your own autofocus specification. The lens can remember the focus position of your choice or disable AF until needed.
- Stabilisation system with a new intelligent OS algorithm
The OS (Optical Stabilizer) system features an acceleration sensor for even more accurate performance. In Mode 2, the acceleration sensor works in conjunction with the new intelligent algorithm to provide effective stabilisation while moving the camera horizontally, vertically or diagonally, regardless of the lens position. This feature helps ensure effective panning and exceptional captures of moving subjects.
- Tripod mount with every 90° anchorage
Since photographers often prefer to use a hyper-telephoto lens with a monopod or tripod, the lens incorporates a large, extremely stable tripod mount. The antistatic nickel-coated parts of the mount help to enhance the quality and durability of the 90° click anchors, which make it easy to change shooting position between vertical and horizontal.

The TS-81 tripod mount is a large lens foot. The length of the guide is optimised to make it easy to adjust the centre of gravity of the equipment for excellent balance. The LPT-11 PROTECTOR is designed exclusively for the SIGMA 500mm F4. It effectively helps prevent damage to the lens during shooting and maintenance. The PL Circular Filter RCP-11 is a rear compartment filter that allows for easy rotation while using the lens.
